Throw the (Anchor) Baby Out With the (Illegal Immigrant) Bath Water Everyone knows the policy of the United States government has been if a baby is born in the U.S. that child is a citizen. It is also a historical fact that this policy was added to the constitution so that slaves and future offspring of slaves would be citizens of the United States. It was never intended to allow the offspring of illegal immigrants to be citizens. As long as the policy is in place, however, more and more illegal aliens will enter this country to try to have babies that are legal citizens. These babies therefore create an anchor effect that allows the illegal alien parents to stay. The theory is that we would never be heartless enough to separate a legal baby from illegal alien parents. We can fix the problem by amending the constitution. It will not be easy, but it will be worth the work. If this loophole is closed, and it stops even one illegal alien from coming here it will be significant. To amend the constitution it takes both the states and the federal government. It is not a simple or easy process, but it definitely can be done. It all starts with contacting your state and federal representatives. We all need to take time to write letters, email and call those people who are suppose to be representing us. This is one of the most important issues facing our country. Please take five or ten minutes out of your busy day and write your representatives in congress. If we all sit back and assume our opinion doesn't make a difference then it truly won't.

You stated that if a child is born in the united states to parents that are illegal that allows the parents to stay living here because here in the good ole USA we aren't heartless enough to separate the kids from their parents. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE LEGALLY MARRIED FOR 10 YEARS AND WE HAVE TWO AMERICAN BORN CHILDREN TOGETHER AND THAT DIDNT STOP THE INS FROM BREAKING DOWN OUR FRONT DOOR AT 4AM, DRAGGING HIM OUT OF BED AND HANDCUFFING HIM IN FRONT OF HIS KIDS AND DEPORTING HIM BACK TO HIS COUNTRY LEAVING ME TO RAISE OUR KIDS ALONE. MY KIDS ARE NOW GROWN BUT HAD TO GROW UP WITHOUT A FATHER THANKS TO THE GOOD OLE USA'S POLICY OF "NOT SEPARATING THE KIDS FROM THEIR PARENTS" BULLSHIT YOU ARE CLAIMING EXISTS WHICH YOU ARE QUITE MISTAKEN ABOUT. YOU CAN ALSO TELL THAT TO THE TWO LITTLE CHILDREN I AM CARING FOR WHOSE PARENTS JUST GOT DEPORTED BACK TO THERE COUNTRY AND THEIR KIDS -- WHO ARE AMERICANS-- ARE NOW ORPHANS LIVING HERE WITHOUT THEIR PARENTS.

!! wanted to say: Ok, so let's give her the benefit of the doubt that her husband WHO WAS HERE ILLEGALLY was sent back to Mexico, if she was concerned about her children growing up without a father GO BACK WITH HIM. Especially if you are in this country illegally as well. What part of illegal don't people understand these days? I am all for imigrants and think America is still the best country to live in but go through the proper channels to get here.
